Nigerian music star, Tiwa Savage, has opened up about her views on marriage, revealing that she would consider becoming a second wife under certain circumstances.
Speaking during a recent episode of the American podcast Lip Service, the award-winning Afrobeats singer explained that most of the men who show interest in her are either older or already married.
According to her, finding a suitable partner has become increasingly difficult as she advances in her career and life.
“I’ve reached that stage where most of the men who approach me are either in their 50s or already have wives. Maybe I could be a second wife,” she said with a laugh. “I just want peace and respect in a relationship.”
The “Somebody’s Son” crooner added that she would not cause conflict in such a situation, emphasizing that she is peaceful and respectful by nature.
“I’m not going to give anyone trouble. I’ll be busy touring most of the time, and I’ll always show respect to the first wife,” Tiwa added.
Tiwa Savage was previously married to music executive Tunji Balogun, widely known as TBillz. The pair got married in 2013 and officially separated in 2018. Their marriage produced a son.
Since her divorce, the singer has focused on her music career, fashion projects, and international collaborations, earning recognition as one of Africa’s leading female artists.
