The management of Osun State Polytechnic Iree has suspended Final Year Brethren Celebration, a ritual for all student of Nigerian tertiary institution at final year.
This decision was announced in an internal memorandum of the institution signed by its registrar, Abiodun Oloyede obtained by Osun Spring Newspaper.
The memorandum stated that the decision was due to the inability of students to complete themselves in orderly nanner during the celebration.
The memorandum further noted that all student’s are to proceed on a compulsory examination break to enable them prepare for their examination.
The memorandum reads, “This is to inform all Full-Time Students that the on-going Final Year Brethen (FYB) celebration in the Institution has been suspended with immediate effect. The suspension is due to the inability of the Students to comport themselves in orderly manner during the celebrations.
“Consequently, all Full Time Students are to proceed on Examination break as from today, Monday 8th September, 2025, to enable them prepare adequately for the forthcoming examinations.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the Second Semester Examinations for the 2024/2025 Academic Session will commence on Monday 15th September, 2025 as scheduled.
“By the provisions of this memo, all students are to vacate the premises of the Institution immediately and ensure they register appropriately if they have not done so.
“All students are to comply with the provisions of this memo in their own interest.”
