The school authority of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, has announced its resumption date for the 2024/2025 academic session.
In a press statement signed by the school’s public relations officer, Mr Abiodun Olanrewaju, he announced that the school’s new session will officially commence on 11th October, 2025.
He stated that fresh students in the faculties of Administration, Arts, Environmental design and management (EDM), Education, Law, and social sciences will be welcomed into residence on the same day, while fresh students from the other faculties will resume on the 12th of October.
He added that online course registration for new students will begin on October 13, 2025, while the orientation programme and ICT training are scheduled to hold from October 13–17 and October 20–24, respectively.
Mr Abiodun noted that the returning undergraduate students are expected back on campus on 26th October, stressing that full academic activities and lectures will follow on Monday, October 27, 2025.
It reads, “Full academic activities will run as scheduled;
Lectures begin Monday, October 27, 2025, Normal Course Registration Ends, October 31, 2025.
Late Registration (with penalty), November 24–28, 2025. Matriculation Ceremony holds on December 3, 2025”
“The Harmattan Semester will run through March 2026, with 13 weeks of lectures, a revision week, and designated periods for examinations and breaks.”
“The rain semester is scheduled to commence on Monday, March 30, 2026.”
The University emphasised its commitment to delivering a structured and flexible academic year, expressing its eagerness to welcome both new University intakes and returning students.
