An Alumnae of Osun State University, Bridget Nwako has bagged the 2025 President’s National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Honours Award.
Bridget, a First-Class graduate of Business Administration and currently a postgraduate student of the University, expressed gratitude to the UNIOSUN for shaping her academically and morally.
She stated this while paying a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of University, Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye, accompanied by the Provost of the College of Management and Social Sciences, Professor Isola Ayantunji, and other lecturers from the college to present the award to the University.
During the visit, Bridget expressed deep appreciation to the University for “training, supporting, and standing by her” throughout her academic journey. She narrated how she identified a pressing challenge in her NYSC host community and worked to provide a sustainable solution, a feat that earned her the prestigious National recognition.
“UNIOSUN has played a significant role in shaping me both academically and morally. The University’s emphasis on developing problem-solvers inspired me to tackle challenges rather than avoid them,” she said.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor described Bridget’s achievement as a reflection of UNIOSUN’s vision of producing well-rounded graduates who excel beyond the classroom.
“At Osun State University, we don’t just train students to achieve academic success; we mould them to be innovators, leaders, and change-makers. Bridget’s recognition at the National level demonstrates the quality of minds we produce and reinforces our commitment to raising graduates who impact society positively,” Professor Adebooye said.
The Presidential NYSC Honours Award celebrates corps members who distinguish themselves through exceptional service and community development projects during their NYSC year. Miss Bridget’s achievement has once again placed UNIOSUN in the spotlight as an institution committed to academic excellence, character development, and social impact.
