The lawmaker representing Osun East in the Senate, Senator Francis Fadahunsi has facilitated an empowerment programme for his constituents.

A grant of money and empowerment tools were provided to over 100 Osun East Senatorial constituents to help them grow their companies. Senator Fadahunsi was the driving force behind the initiative carried out under the Public Complaint Commission’s Zonal Intervention Programme.

The ten local government districts that make up the East Senatorial District provided the majority of the recipients, who were young people.

The beneficiaries were presented with the tools that include sewing machines, hair dryers and cash grants, among others.

During his welcome speech, Senator Fadahunsi, who was represented by Mr. Wale Awofolaju, mentioned that one of the steps taken to mitigate the impact of the loss of gasoline subsidies on the constituents was empowerment.

Awofolaju urged the constituents to continue supporting the legislator’s efforts to help more people escape poverty, assuring them that the congressman will continue to prioritise their wellbeing.

The governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, praised Fadahunsi for his role in reducing poverty by empowering the people living in the state via various programmes.

Adeleke, who was represented by Mr. Bayo Ogungbangbe, characterised the lawmaker as effective in serving the interests of his people.

Ogungbangbe, who is the Osun State Commissioner for Cooperative and Empowerment, further said, “this is the sixth time that Senator Fadahunsi will invite me to come and assist him in distributing different materials as a form of empowerment to his constituents.

“By distributing different kind of equipments like sewing machines, hair dryer, barbing materials and money as grants to empower people, he has done so well to empower his people. It has helped this government to at least reach out to people in terms of empowerment.”

He urged the beneficiaries to utilise the empowerment tools to improve their lives and contribute meaningfully to economy of their communities.

Representative of the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Empowerment, Abuja, which supervised the initiative, Amodere Kelvin, rallied support for Fadahunsi, in his quest to make life better better for residents of Osun East Senatorial District.
