Osun Monarch Unveil Maiden Community Football Competition

The Oluwo of Iwoland Oba (Dr) Adewale Akanbi has rolled out his move for a football competition to be held in his community.
The football competition tagged “TELU Cup” has 29 teams competing against each other in the maiden edition of the competition
The football teams have been seeded into seven different groups, and hostility has kick-started on Saturday, 25th of November.
The monarch said the need to discover bright football talents and promote unity among the young ones necessitated his interest in the competition.
He urged participants to see the competition as an opportunity to showcase their talents and seek support.
“I enjoin the youth to maximize the opportunity and convert it to advantage. The competition will form part of my annual routines. I’m hopeful that by next year, we will be proud to have national and international football talents. If you are a football talent, you are assured of my support and encouragement,” the monarch stated.
