Governor Adeleke is committed to development of rural areas – O’RAAMP Coordinator

Governor Ademola Adeleke has been commended for his unflinching support and commitment to infrastructural development of rural areas through Osun Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP).

The Project coordinator, Osun RAAMP, Engineer Rasaq Okediya gave this commendation while featuring on Imole Ayo, an awareness programme which promotes the activities of governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration on OSBC Radio and Television channels.

The weekly Yoruba simulcast programme is put together by the office of the spokesperson to the Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed to showcase the achievements of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration in Osun state

Engineer Okediya disclosed that the governor’s commitment to the development of rural areas in Osun state is evident in the express approval and release of counterpart fund which enabled the agency to settle some debts and the outstanding salaries of its staffs.

Explaining the activities of the agency since its transition to RAAMP, the project coordinator said that the excellent performance of the agency under RAMP-2 qualified the state to be among the nineteen States participating in RAAMP.

According to him, O’RAAMP will among other things, upgrade some kilometres of rural roads, while spot improvement would be done on rural roads, with routine maintenance and regular rehabilitations.

The project coordinator, Osun RAAMP assured that the newly added component – Agricultural Marketing – would focus on the construction of Agro-Logistic Centres in the three senatorial districts using the multi-dimensional indicators as laid down by Donor Partners.

While appreciating the support and cooperation enjoyed from the state government under the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke for providing an enabling environment for the agency to operate, Engineer Okediya appealed to host communities where the Agro logistics hubs will be constructed to cooperate with O’RAAMP staffs when the exercise begins as project is not out to destroy their landed properties.
