Osun LG Election: Pelumi Olajengbesi Donates 6million to PDP candidates from Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency

Candidates representing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the coming 2025 Osun LG elections have lauded Ijebu-Ijesa-born lawyer Pelumi Olajengbesi for supporting their aspirations with N6 million.

It was gathered that Olajengbesi, who was represented by his political advisers, had given the sum of N250,000 to each PDP councillorship candidate in all 22 wards in Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency.

The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oriade LG, Prince Adeloye, while addressing the candidates, thanked Pelumi Olajengbesi for always supporting youths, the party, and the aspirations of every member of the party who wants to contest for leadership positions.

Adeloye, who disclosed that he is not surprised by the donation of N6million for candidates of the party, stated that Pelumi Olajengbesi, in the past, had done a lot for members of the party who did not contest any elections.

“He is always demonstrating his love for the party through ideas and actions. I know he loves the party wholeheartedly, and I really want to thank him for supporting our candidates because his support would surely go a long way”, Adeloye further stated.

Femi Mercy, a chieftain of the party in Oriade, while appreciating Olajengbesi for the N6million donation, commended the Abuja-based lawyer for serving as a support system for PDP candidates in Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency.

“You are a shoulder our candidates have leaned on, and God will continue to support you too. You knew our candidates were mostly youths who would surely need help to scale through electioneering, and you did not run away or switch off your phone when needed. I thank you so much”, Mercy said.

Ojo Oluwajayogbe, PDP councillorship candidate in Ward 10, Oriade LG, while speaking on behalf of other candidates of the party, also thanked Pelumi Olajengbesi for donating generously to their causes.

Oluwajayogbe acknowledged that it is rare for party members who are not in political office to donate such an amount of money towards the political aspirations of other members.

While describing Olajengbesi as a selfless leader and good politician of note, he said the donation is proof that the lawyer is not a selfish leader who is not concerned about the success of others.

When contacted, Pelumi Olajengbesi told our reporter that he is encouraged by the good works of Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, who is working assiduously to improve the lives of Osun people.

According to Olajengbesi, our party candidates need support from every angle to win the coming LG elections and replicate the good works of our father and leader, Senator Ademola Adeleke, at the grassroots.

He said, “I am glad that I could help. We cannot allow candidates who have worked so hard for the party in the past to steer their ships to victory alone. I am ready to soak myself in their journeys to victories. That is why we are a party. We are for each other.”

He also assured candidates that he would surely do more because their victory would be a plus for the party.

“I will surely do more for our candidates without holding any position. If our candidates win, the party will move forward, and the ideals will become widespread. I trust our candidates at LG polls to always deliver”, he added.
