The newly appointed 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty Oba Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja, has thrown his weight behind the re-election bid of Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke.

Oba Ladoja, a former Senator of the Federal Republic and ex-Governor of Oyo State, gave the royal nod on Monday while receiving Governor Adeleke in his Ibadan residence during a congratulatory visit ahead of his coronation scheduled for September 26.

The respected monarch, who drew striking parallels between his own political journey and that of the Osun helmsman, described Adeleke as a performing Governor whose achievements merit continuity.

“Every day we hear of your good works in Osun State, and we are proud of the progress you are bringing to your people.

“Your developmental strides should continue beyond 2026 because no one can stop the good work you are doing. I will personally attend your second-term swearing-in as Olubadan of Ibadan, because one good term deserves another,” he said.

Speaking further, the monarch lauded Adeleke’s style of governance, describing him as a leader who has changed the narrative in Osun.

“Your performance as a Governor elates me. Osun is a difficult state to govern but you have changed the narrative. You are doing many wonderful things and I can see Osun people are happy with you. Keep it up,” Oba Ladoja declared.

He prayed for the Governor’s continued success, assuring him of divine protection and greater achievements in office.

Reflecting on the Adeleke family’s legacy, the Olubadan said: “You are from a family of excellent people. Your father, Senator Adeleke, your brother, my own Serubawon, Senator and former Governor. Thank you for keeping the flag flying.”

Responding, Governor Adeleke congratulated the monarch on his elevation, describing his ascension to the throne as historic and well-deserved.

“Kabiyesi, I deeply appreciate your guidance and wise counsel. Your leadership legacy continues to inspire me in Osun State. I pray for long life, filled with peace, joy, happiness, and divine blessings on the throne of your forefathers,” Adeleke said, promising to honor the Olubadan with a befitting celebration during his coronation.

The Governor was accompanied on the visit by the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Teslim Igbalaye; Chief of Staff, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye; Yeyelua Modupeola Sanni-Adeleke; and Commissioners Otunba Tola Faseru, Hon. Olatunji Ayofe, Hon. Biyi Odunlade, and Hon. Soji Ajeigbe.

The visit further cements Adeleke’s growing influence across the South-West as the Governor continues to attract commendations for his developmental strides in Osun.
