The Osun State Ministry of Health, in partnership with the Early Childhood Development (ECD) Project, on Monday, August 25, 2025, officially unveiled the Osun State Early Childhood Development Strategy at the Ministry’s Conference Hall in Osogbo.
The event drew participants from across the health sector, including policymakers, medical practitioners, representatives of international partners, and project sponsors.
The newly introduced strategy, described as the first comprehensive framework of its kind in Nigeria, is designed to enhance the early identification and management of developmental delays and disabilities among children in Osun State.
The initiative is being implemented through a collaboration between the Ministry of Health and the Early Childhood Development Project, which is a joint effort of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex and the UK Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.
This collaboration is part of Nigeria’s involvement in the Global Health Workforce Programme, supported by the UK Department of Health and Social Care, with Global Health Partnerships UK serving as fund manager and Ducit Blue Solutions acting as the local grant administrator in Nigeria.
