The Osun State Executive Council has approved the appointment of Prince Adeleke Saheed Adeyemi as the new Olokusa of Okusa in Egbedore Local Government Area of the state.
The decision was reached during the council’s meeting presided over by Governor Ademola Adeleke on Friday evening, where several policy matters and traditional appointments were deliberated upon.
Announcing the approval, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, said the appointment followed due process and was part of the state government’s commitment to upholding traditional institutions as custodians of culture and grassroots development.
Alimi noted that the new monarch’s appointment is expected to further strengthen peace, unity, and progress in Okusa and Egbedore at large.
The Commissioner further assured that Governor Adeleke’s administration remains committed to working with traditional rulers across the state to foster development at the grassroots level.
The formal presentation of the staff of office to the new Olokusa is expected to be conducted at a date to be announced soon.
