Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has reassured manufacturers and investors that his administration is fully committed to boosting local content, reviving industries, and providing incentives that will make the state an industrial hub.
Speaking at the 42nd Annual General Meeting of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Oyo/Osun/Ondo/Ekiti States branch in Ede, Adeleke, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Teslim Igbalaye, said his government had prioritised local producers in procurement processes while building stronger linkages between agriculture, mining, and manufacturing to ease access to raw materials.
The governor also disclosed that efforts were underway to accelerate industrialisation by revitalising the Free Trade Zone, reviving moribund industries, and promoting youth entrepreneurship.
He added that Osun State University had partnered with his administration to develop an Industrial Development Policy based on the Triple Helix Model, which brings together government, academia, and industry for sustainable growth.
Adeleke pointed to Osun’s fertile land, expedited processing of Certificates of Occupancy, improved security, relatively stable electricity supply, and access to rail lines linking the South to the North while highlighting incentives available to investors.
He further identified the Living Spring Free Trade Zone, Osun Special Economic Zone, and the Special Agro-Processing Centre as ready facilities for industrial take-off.
According to him, these measures were deliberately designed to attract investors, reduce import dependence, and create jobs, ultimately strengthening both the Naira and the local economy.
