Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, has formally declared open the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II orientation course for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members deployed to the state.

The Governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Hon. Olagunju Moshood Olalekan, performed the official swearing-in and opening ceremony on Friday at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Ede.

In his address, Adeleke welcomed the corps members on behalf of the government and people of Osun State, describing the NYSC scheme as a vital instrument for national unity, youth empowerment, and grassroots development.

He commended the NYSC management for sustaining the ideals of the programme over the years, stressing that integrity must remain the guiding principle of all who pass through the scheme.

“The core values of this noble scheme—Selfless Service, Integrity, Efficiency, Commitment, and Teamwork—must be protected,” the Governor said.

Adeleke assured that his administration would continue to support NYSC objectives while ensuring that corps members posted to Osun enjoy adequate security, respect, and opportunities to contribute meaningfully to the state.

He urged the new corps members to be worthy ambassadors, agents of positive change, and to leave behind lasting legacies of service in their host communities.

“Serve with honour, live with purpose, and make Osun State, your state of origin, and Nigeria proud,” Adeleke charged.

Speaking on behalf of the Governor, Hon. Olagunju reiterated the government’s commitment to youth development and pledged support for all corps members throughout their service year.
