Popular reality TV personality and entrepreneur, Natacha Akide, widely known as Tacha, has commenced her attempt to secure a place in the Guinness World Records through a 24-hour beauty marathon in Lagos.
The marathon, which began at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, took off at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History, Surulere, drawing massive attention from fans, beauty enthusiasts, and celebrities alike.
Branded as the highlight of the Tacha Beauty Festival (October 10–12), the challenge seeks to establish a new world record for the highest number of makeovers completed within a 24-hour period, with more than 150 participants taking part.
The event grounds buzzed with activity as celebrities and influencers turned up in support. Among those sighted were Hilda Baci, Broda Shaggi, Liquorose, Nons Miraj, Dabota Lawson, Somadina Anyama, and Samuel Banks.
Tacha and her professional glam team are expected to work tirelessly through the night, transforming faces back-to-back while the entire process is documented for record verification. Her team confirmed that all required evidence would be submitted immediately after the 24-hour window ends on Sunday evening.
If confirmed, the achievement would be a groundbreaking moment for Nigeria’s beauty and creative industry, positioning Tacha among a growing list of Nigerian record-holders, including chef Hilda Baci, whose 2023 cookathon gained international acclaim.
Meanwhile, fans across social platforms have rallied behind her with trending hashtags such as #TachaGWRBeautyMarathon and #MakeHistoryWithTacha, expressing excitement and pride in her historic pursuit.
