Billionaire businessman and senator, Prince Ned Nwoko, has broken his silence over the yesterday’s allegations of domestic violence levelled against him by his actress wife, Regina Daniels.
In a post on his social media accounts on Sunday titled “Regina’s Unprovoked Carnage and Rampage in My House and in My Absence,” Nwoko denied ever laying hands on his wife.
He said such claims are false and malicious.
According to him, the real issue within their marriage stems from what he called Regina’s “battle with drugs and alcohol abuse,” which he said has worsened in recent months despite repeated efforts to help her.
“Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem. She must continue her rehabilitation program, or I fear for her life and safety,” he said.
Nwoko alleged that Regina’s yesterday’s outburst at home, which has been trending on social media, was fueled by her substance use.
He accused her of attacking his staff and destroying property.
“In the last 48 hours, she slapped and hit three staff members and destroyed cars and windows for no just cause.
“The truth is, I have set a clear condition for her to accept rehab in Asokoro or outside Nigeria, especially in Jordan, where she will not have access to drugs,” he claimed.
The politician, who is also a lawyer, further claimed that while he took their son, Moon, to the hospital, chaos erupted at home allegedly instigated by Regina’s brother, Sammy, whom he described as her “main drug supplier.”
He added that another person identified as “Ann” was also known to supply drugs to Regina, while alleging that she had even threatened to harm the family’s resident nurse who had tried to expose her addiction.
“A clear-headed Regina would have taken Moon to the hospital herself, but instead she threatened to kill our nurse for exposing her drug abuse,” Nwoko said.
He insisted that he had never been violent toward any of his wives, stressing that “none of them will ever accuse me of violence,” and maintained that Regina’s recent behaviour was “a tragic outcome of substance dependence.”
The development comes amid a storm of online reactions following videos and statements suggesting that Regina Daniels had accused her husband of domestic violence.
As of press time, Regina Daniels has yet to issue an official response to her husband’s claims.
