The First Lady of Osun State, Chief Mrs. Titilola Adeleke, has called on Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to embrace the spirit of giving back to society and to make health and well-being a personal priority.

She made the call during the flag-off of a four-day free medical, school, and community outreach organised by Hope Across Ages Foundation UK in collaboration with the Osun State Ministry of Health.

The event, held at the State Hospital, Asubiaro, Osogbo, attracted hundreds of residents who benefited from various humanitarian services.

Chief Mrs. Adeleke commended the convener of the programme, Dr. Titilayo Eniitan Kolawole, an Osun-born medical professional based in the United Kingdom, for her consistent dedication to humanitarian causes.

She described the outreach as “a shining example of selfless service and social responsibility,” adding that such initiatives play a vital role in complementing government efforts.

The First Lady explained that the three-in-one outreach—covering free medical checkups, distribution of drugs to over 200 elderly citizens, educational support for children, and food relief to residents in selected communities—was in line with Governor Ademola Adeleke’s five-point agenda focused on improving citizens’ welfare.

She said, “The government alone cannot shoulder the responsibility of making life better for our people. I urge individuals and organisations to emulate this noble gesture by supporting the less privileged and promoting community well-being.”

In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Osun State Ministry of Health, Dr. Isiaka Adekunle, lauded both the organisers and the First Lady for their commitment to improving the lives of citizens. He described the initiative as a valuable addition to the state’s health promotion and social support programmes.

Similarly, in their goodwill messages, the Commissioner for Health, Hon. (Barr.) Jola Moses Akintola, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Primary Health Care, Dr. Michael Oyerinde, and the Permanent Secretary, Hospitals Management Board (HMB), Dr. Abayomi Oni, praised the foundation for its collaboration with the state government. They reaffirmed the Adeleke administration’s resolve to strengthen partnerships that advance community health and development.

Founder of the Hope Across Ages Foundation, Dr. Titilayo Kolawole, explained that the outreach was conceived to assist vulnerable individuals by providing access to basic healthcare, education, and food support. She expressed gratitude to the Osun First Lady for her encouragement and advocacy for citizens’ welfare.
