US Invasion: Chad Seals Nigerian Border

0 0

The Chadian government has ordered the immediate closure of its border with Nigeria, citing heightened security concerns and growing uncertainty over alleged U.S. military movements in parts of West Africa.

Military sources in N’Djamena confirmed on Monday that President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno directed the lockdown following intelligence reports suggesting that terrorist elements from northern Nigeria were attempting to cross into Chadian territory.

According to regional security analyst Zagazola Makama, Chadian troops and armored vehicles have been stationed along key entry points, with all units placed on full alert to prevent any breach.

President Déby reportedly declared that “no armed group or foreign force will be permitted to enter Chad under any guise,” stressing his administration’s commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty.

The decision comes amid growing regional unease triggered by reports of U.S. reconnaissance activity and military repositioning in the Sahel, following renewed global attention on security in the region.

Security experts view Chad’s move as a preventive measure designed to forestall infiltration by insurgents and criminal groups seeking to exploit current instability in neighboring states.
