Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on Tuesday inaugurated the Osun State Security Trust Fund.

He reinforced his administration’s determination to build a safer and more prosperous state.

The inauguration ceremony, held at the Government House Banquet Hall in Osogbo, marked what the governor described as “a strategic step towards ensuring sustainable security financing” in the state.

He said, “from the first day we assumed office, we made it clear that the security and well-being of our people would remain top priority. This Fund will help us strengthen operational capacity, improve response time, and provide modern equipment and logistics for our security agencies.”

Governor Adeleke explained that the Fund—established by law and backed by the State House of Assembly—is structured to ensure a steady flow of resources for security operations, fostering better coordination among agencies.

He lauded the newly inaugurated members of the Security Trust Fund Board, describing their appointment as “a national call to service.” Adeleke charged them to manage the Fund with transparency, integrity, and accountability.

“The people of Osun must see this Fund as a beacon of trust, not just in name but in practice,” he said.

The governor further appealed to the private sector, development partners, and well-meaning citizens to contribute to the Fund, stressing that security should be viewed as a collective responsibility.

Governor Adeleke assured that all contributions to the Fund would be utilized judiciously with full oversight.

“Our goal is to make Osun the safest, most peaceful, and most business-friendly state in Nigeria,” the governor declared.
