The search for an officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), SRC Lasisi Funmilayo Oluwamayokun, and her young daughter, Sewa, has ended in heartbreak after their bodies were reportedly recovered from the residence of a suspected herbalist in Osun State.

Lasisi, 38, serving with the FRSC Abeokuta Unit, was declared missing alongside her daughter on Sunday, November 2, 2025, after they left their home at Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, and never returned.

Multiple calls to her phone were unanswered, prompting a formal missing persons report at the Kemta Divisional Police Headquarters on November 5.

Fresh revelations at the weekend indicated that the remains of the officer and her daughter were discovered in the house of a herbalist in an unnamed community in Osun State.

A source close to the grieving husband confirmed the development, describing the discovery as “devastating beyond words.”

The grim find has shifted the focus of the investigation from Ogun to Osun State, where police operatives reportedly arrested the herbalist’s wife after the bodies were recovered.

The prime suspect (the herbalist himself) has since fled, sparking an intense manhunt across state lines.

Preliminary reports suggest the herbalist may have been directly linked to the deaths, though investigators are still working to establish a clear motive and sequence of events.

Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, Ph.D., has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the case and directed homicide detectives to collaborate with their counterparts in Osun.

“The loss of an officer and her child in such disturbing circumstances is unacceptable. We will pursue every lead to uncover the truth and bring all responsible individuals to justice,” the Commissioner vowed.

The discovery has thrown the FRSC Abeokuta Unit and residents of Obasanjo Hilltop Estate into deep mourning, with neighbours describing the late officer as dedicated, gentle, and family-oriented.

Colleagues at the FRSC have been left shattered, calling the incident “one tragedy too many.”

Police have appealed to members of the public for credible information that could lead to the arrest of the fleeing herbalist, as investigations into the shocking deaths continue.
