A former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, has confirmed that he has been invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

He also assures Nigerians that he will fully honour the invitation.

Malami made this known in a Facebook post on Friday, stating that as a “law-abiding and patriotic citizen,” he remains committed to accountability in public service.

“This is to confirm that I have been invited by the EFCC. As a law-abiding and patriotic citizen, I hereby reaffirm my commitment to honour the invitation,” he wrote.

The former AGF, who served from 2015 to 2023, added that he recognises the importance of transparency in governance, which are part of values he said he has always advocated.

“I understand the spirit of accountability and transparency in public service — the principles that I both advocate and champion,” he said.

Malami further assured the public that he would keep Nigerians informed on the unfolding developments, stressing that his resolve is rooted in his dedication to public service.

“In the spirit of transparency and accountability, I am committed to sharing with the Nigerian public the developments as they unfold,” he added.
