Former Secretary to the State Government in Osun State, Alhaji Moshood Olalekan Adeoti has formally withdrawn from the Omoluabi Progressives.

This is political group he co-founded with former Osun Governor and former Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola.

This is coming after the emergence of Rt. Hon. Najeem Salam as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Osun State.

Adeoti, who came second in the ADC primary with 3 votes behind Salam’s 11, announced his withdrawal in an official letter addressed to the Chairman of the Omoluabi Progressives at the group’s Ayinke Towers office in Osogbo.

In the letter, Adeoti stated that the decision was a difficult one, noting his years of investment and commitment to sustaining the group “throughout its turbulent period from inception till date.”

He added that increasing pressure from both his immediate and extended family to take a short break from political activities also influenced his decision.

He further declared a total withdrawal from all group activities, expressing gratitude to fellow members for the trust they had placed in him during his time with the organization.

Adeoti concluded by wishing the current leadership success in its future endeavours.
