Adeleke Approves 2026 Promotion Examinations for Osun Workers

By Waliu Adetokun, Osogbo

Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke has approved the conduct of the 2026 promotion examinations for workers in the Osun State public service.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued in Osogbo by the spokesperson to the governor, Olawale Rasheed.

Following the approval, the Head of Service, Ayanleye Aina, directed ministries, departments and agencies across the state to commence the exercise without delay.

Aina recalled that shortly after assuming office in November 2022, Governor Adeleke cleared outstanding promotion arrears inherited by the administration and ensured the payment of the financial benefits attached to them.

He noted that “immediately the governor came on board in November 2022, he cleared the arrears of promotion on ground, including their cash backing, thereby restoring the lost confidence of public servants in the bureaucratic system.”

The Head of Service added that since 2023, “promotion of workers and other allied establishment matters have continued unabated as and when due with financial backing.”
Aina also directed officials responsible for the conduct of the examinations to ensure proper coordination of the process.

“For the smooth conduct of the exercise, those in charge must leave no stone unturned in ensuring that all necessary actions are taken promptly to guarantee a hitch free exercise,” he said.

While commending the governor for what he described as his workers friendly disposition, the Head of Service urged public servants in the state to reciprocate the gesture.

He said workers should “be more committed to their duties so that our people can reap more dividends of democracy.”
