Osun 2026 Political Map Tilts in Adeleke’s Favour, Campaign Organisation Replies APC

The Adeleke Campaign Organisation has dismissed claims by the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its campaign Director General, Wole Oke, insisting that the political outlook ahead of the 2026 governorship election favours Governor Ademola Adeleke.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the campaign organisation described comments attributed to Oke suggesting that the APC would win the next election based on the margin recorded in 2022 and recent defections as unfounded.
According to the group, the political landscape in Osun has changed considerably since the last governorship election, with several areas previously considered APC strongholds now leaning towards the ruling Accord Party.
“The Osun political map across the nine federal constituencies has shifted significantly from the 2022 pattern.
What we have today clearly favours Governor Adeleke, with many former APC bases now firmly under Accord control,” the statement read.
The organisation also projected a more decisive outcome in the next election, expressing confidence that the governor would secure a significantly higher margin of victory.
It criticised Oke over his role during the 2022 election, alleging that his actions did not support the governor at the time, and argued that recent political developments have strengthened the ruling party’s position.
“While a few individuals have left, their exit has been more than compensated for by mass defections into Accord across the state.
In many instances, those who defected have also lost support within their local constituencies,” the group stated.
The campaign organisation further faulted the APC for not presenting a clear policy direction ahead of the election, while commending the governor for what it described as consistent engagement with the public and delivery on his agenda.
“The governor’s team remains tactically and strategically intact and has been strengthened by a wide range of stakeholders, including grassroots groups, labour movements and civil society organisations,” it said.
It added that a large percentage of key voting blocs in the state had already thrown their support behind the governor’s second-term bid.
“As of today, almost 90 per cent of the voting segments that determine electoral outcomes in Osun are aligned with Governor Adeleke and the Accord.
Many of these groups have openly endorsed him for another term,” the statement added.
The organisation also noted what it described as growing public interest in protecting the integrity of the electoral process.
“Across towns and villages, the people are mobilising and are determined to protect their votes and ensure that the will of the electorate prevails,” it said.
The group commended President Bola Tinubu for his stance on the forthcoming election, describing it as encouraging for democratic processes.
“We appreciate Mr President for assuring all parties and contestants of a level playing field.
It is commendable that he has maintained neutrality and refused to interfere in the process,” the statement concluded.
