Why I Pledge to Buy Makinde’s PDP Nomination Form for 2027 Presidency – Oyo Rep Reveals

The federal lawmaker representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide (popularly known as Odidiomo), has vowed to personally purchase the Nomination and Expression of Interest forms for Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, to contest the 2027 presidential primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Olajide, a two-term lawmaker and Chairman of the House Committee on Digital, Information Communication Technology and Cybersecurity, made the declaration while speaking with journalists in Abuja. His media aide, Tolu Mustapha, conveyed the position.

With the PDP zoning its presidential ticket to the South, Olajide argued that Makinde stands tall as the most credible and prepared candidate to lead the opposition against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

“Governor Seyi Makinde must take a shot at the presidency in 2027. He does not have a choice,” Olajide said.

“He has the education, political experience, corporate background, international exposure, mental capacity, and, above all, a sterling record of performance as a two-term governor of Oyo State. He is the new face of Nigerian politics.”

The lawmaker described Makinde as the only southern politician with the political weight to match President Bola Tinubu in a national contest, stressing that his influence has grown beyond the PDP to the broader political landscape.

According to him, Makinde’s governance style—balancing infrastructure development with social welfare—has become a model of developmental politics and an asset the PDP must harness.

“Makinde’s candidacy in 2027 will not only sustain the vision of the PDP’s founding fathers but also redefine leadership for a new generation of Nigerians yearning for competence, inclusiveness, and genuine progress,” he added.

Olajide further asserted that in the South-West, Makinde remains the strongest opposition figure capable of mobilising across party lines. He expressed confidence that other political platforms would rally behind him to unseat the APC.

He urged Makinde to publicly declare his ambition without delay, insisting that history beckons on him to become the first Oyo State indigene to occupy the highest office in the land.

“His political network cuts across party lines, and I can assure Nigerians that many political parties will collapse their structures into one for him to send the APC out of Aso Rock,” the lawmaker maintained.
