Osun PDP Moves to Quell Ife Federal Constituency Crisis

The Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has intervened in the brewing tension within the Ife Federal Constituency following a communiqué issued by some stakeholders yesterday, Monday, September 1, in which a vote of no confidence was allegedly passed on key leaders of the party.

In a statement issued earlier today, the party leadership directed all members and stakeholders in the constituency to suspend further actions that could escalate the situation.

It adds that disputes must be resolved through the party’s internal mechanisms.

The statement reiterated the party’s high regard for its leaders, particularly the Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, and a member of the PDP Board of Trustees, Prof. Wale Oladipo, describing them as “critical pillars” whose contributions remain invaluable to the party’s growth and stability.

“Any grievances directed at our leaders must be channelled strictly through the conflict resolution structures of the party, not through unilateral pronouncements or public declarations,” the statement read.

The PDP warned against acts capable of undermining its authority or flouting laid-down rules and procedures, adding that discipline and loyalty remain non-negotiable for all members.

To this end, the party said it has summoned concerned stakeholders to a peace meeting, aimed at resolving all issues and fostering reconciliation as “members of the same political family.”

Concluding, the Osun PDP urged all contending forces in Ifeland to sheath their swords and embrace peace in the collective interest of the party and the people of the state.
