0 0

The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has disqualified one of its leading aspirants, Engr. Kayode Ojo, from participating in the upcoming governorship primary election in Ekiti State.

The APC governorship primary is scheduled to hold on October 27, ahead of the July 20, 2026 governorship election fixed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Duro Meseko, made the announcement while briefing journalists at the APC national secretariat in Abuja on Thursday.

Meseko confirmed that Governor Abiodun Oyebanji and Omolayo Oluremi were the only aspirants cleared by the screening committee to contest the primary.

He, however, declined to give details on why Ojo was disqualified, noting that the party’s screening process was “guided by internal rules and constitutional requirements.”

More details are expected as the party prepares for the October 27 primary.
