APC’s Poor Performance Making Nigerians Nostalgic for PDP Era — Ologunagba

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has failed to deliver on its promises, causing many Nigerians to look back fondly on the PDP’s years in power — a period it described as one of economic growth, stability, and global recognition.

Speaking during an interactive session with journalists on Wednesday, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, said the country witnessed remarkable progress under the PDP-led administration, only for those gains to be eroded over the past decade.

“Under the PDP, Nigeria’s economy was the number one in Africa and valued at over $600 billion by the time we left office in 2015,” Ologunagba recalled. “We were also the continent’s leading destination for foreign investment. Sadly, all that progress has been reversed under the APC.”

He noted that Nigerians, having experienced governance under both parties, can now clearly assess which administration truly worked in their best interest.

“Due to the APC’s poor performance in government, many Nigerians are looking back fondly on the PDP’s tenure. It was a time of democratic governance, economic expansion, and respect for the rule of law,” he said.

Ologunagba emphasized that the PDP remains committed to internal democracy, accountability, and national unity.

He also described the forthcoming national convention of the party as a vital step toward strengthening democracy in Nigeria, adding that citizens are keenly watching to see the PDP set the standard for credible leadership.

He maintained that Nigerians deserve competent and visionary leadership that can restore the nation’s lost glory, promising that the PDP is prepared to reclaim power and rebuild what has been broken under the APC-led government.
