The 2023 presidential candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Justice Peter Umeadi, has announced his withdrawal from partisan politics.

This marks an end to his brief but eventful political journey.

In a letter addressed to the Chairman of APGA Ward 1 in Nri, Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, the retired Chief Judge of Anambra State stated that his decision was reached after careful reflection on his experience in Nigeria’s political arena.

Justice Umeadi, who flew the APGA flag in the 2023 presidential election, expressed gratitude to his supporters across the country while affirming his commitment to national unity and good governance outside the confines of party politics.

He wrote, “After due consideration, I have decided to withdraw from active and partisan politics. My sincere appreciation goes to all who supported me during my time in APGA and throughout the 2023 elections.”

Justice Peter Umeadi is a respected legal luminary before his foray into politics, served as Chief Judge of Anambra State until his retirement in 2019.
