The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has taken a swipe at the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) over its recently leaked consensus list.
It stated that development is a fresh display of “confusion, desperation, and disconnection from the people.”
In a statement signed by the State Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi, and released by the party’s media unit, the PDP said the list only reaffirms that the APC remains stuck in “the old politics of imposition and self-interest,” while the people of Osun have moved forward under the purposeful leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
“The forthcoming 2026/2027 general elections will not be a contest of noise or propaganda but a celebration of performance, trust, and results,” the statement declared.
According to the PDP, Osun people have already made their choice based on visible governance outcomes.
“Osun people know the difference between hardship and hope. They have tested both parties and are proudly standing with the PDP, the party that has restored light, dignity, and direction to governance through Imole,” it stated.
The party described its growing influence as a product of deep public trust and emotional connection with ordinary citizens.
“We have earned huge street credibility across Osun State because our Governor speaks the people’s language—performance, humility, and accessibility. From teachers to farmers, market women to artisans, students to civil servants, the message is the same: the PDP government is working, and Osun is breathing again,” the statement continued.
The PDP said Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration has delivered across key sectors and restored faith in government institutions.
“Today, our government enjoys open endorsement from workers, pensioners, students, transport unions, professional bodies, and community leaders who have all seen a government that keeps its word. Salaries are no longer delayed, pensions are regular, and respect has returned to the public service. The people can now plan their lives because they trust the system again,” the statement added.
The PDP mocked the leaked APC list as “a recycled arrangement of tired and deceitful politicians”, insisting that the opposition’s attempt at unity is only a façade.
“What they call consensus is nothing but confusion packaged in the old way. The people have not forgotten their years of deception. Osun will not go backward,” the party stated.
The Osun PDP expressed confidence that its record of performance would speak louder than propaganda as it reaffirms its preparedness for future elections.
“Our performance speaks for us. Our unity gives us strength. And the people’s love keeps us going. Come 2026/2027, the PDP will win again—not because of politics, but because of performance and the people’s conviction that Osun must never return to the years of waste and sorrow,” the statement concluded.
