Kano State leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have concluded a four-day strategic engagement designed to strengthen the party and prepare its structures for the 2027 general elections.
The series of meetings, which held at the Kano residence of former Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, brought together party figures from all 44 local governments.
The final leg featured stakeholders from the Kano North Senatorial District, including council chairmen, caucus members and other major actors within the party.
Ganduje said the consultations were convened to rebuild internal confidence and foster cohesion as the countdown to 2027 begins.
According to him, APC leaders across the state had demonstrated readiness to maintain the party’s influence in Kano and beyond.
He explained that participants unanimously expressed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and requested approval to make public declarations endorsing him as the APC’s sole presidential candidate for the next general election.
Ganduje noted that each local government would soon mobilise its members, supporters and stakeholders to formalise this endorsement.
He further directed that all APC offices at the ward and local government levels be reopened and made fully functional to boost grassroots activities.
He announced that the party would deploy ICT officers to support the upcoming nationwide digital registration of members.
Ganduje said each local government had been tasked to nominate three computer-literate individuals for training at the state headquarters, after which they would handle the electronic registration exercise.
He expressed confidence that Kano would once again lead the country in APC membership figures.
He also urged party officials to intensify mobilisation for the ongoing voter registration being conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), encouraging eligible citizens—especially first-time voters—to register ahead of the elections.
