NNL: 10-man Osun Utd Secure First Away Win On The Road

10-man Osun United over the week defeated their host, Tradesafe FC of Lagos to a 1-0 victory, courtesy of an Emmanuel Essien stunner at Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos, in one of Nigeria National League Match Day 2 matches.

The Omoluabi giant’s who had one of their players Sultan Hameed sent off in the match after a second booking, turned out a superior masterclass performance against their host despite being a man down.

The Seye Ajayi tutored side had their goalkeeper Subairu Suleiman winning the man of the match for an heroic display to ensure victory for his team as he kept the host team at bay with his superlative performance in goalpost on his debut game.

Reacting to the victory of his team, Coach Seye Ajayi said, “It was a tough match for us as we were reduced to 10 man, but that helped us to do what we wanted to do on-time. We were able to contain them, while catching them unaware upfront as well. I want to sincerely appreciate my guys and congratulate them for securing the victory far away from home.” The Ex 3SC goal poacher stated.

The victory has earned two players of Osun Utd named among the NNL Team of the Week for Match Day two.

Goalkeeper Subairu Suleiman was rewarded for his heroic display on his debut game as the best Goalkeeper of matchday two while his counterpart and defender, Abubakar earned his spot in the NNL Team of the Week for match day two as well.

The Omoluabi Giants will now be at their home ground to host Warri Wolves in match day three of the Nigeria National League at the Osogbo Township Stadium.
