The Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) has announced that the official draw for the 2025 NWFL Championship will take place on Wednesday, 3rd September 2025, at 1:00 PM, at the NWFL Secretariat Office in Abuja.
The announcement followed the endorsement of club representatives as part of efforts to ensure a seamless build-up to the competition, scheduled to hold from 11th to 21st September 2025 in Abia State.
According to the NWFL Chief Operating Officer, Modupe Shabi in a statement by NWFL Media Director, the draw will be conducted online and streamed live to guarantee wider access and transparency.
The statement reads in part, “during the draw ceremony, 17 clubs will be drawn into four groups with the eventual winners of each group securing automatic promotion tickets to the 2025/2026 NWFL Premiership season.
“The NWFL Secretariat lead has also requested all participating clubs to ensure adequate representation during the session, as the draw represents a key milestone in preparations for the 2025 edition.
“A dedicated link to the livestream will be shared with stakeholders and media representatives in due course.
“The NWFL remains committed to promoting women’s football in Nigeria through professionalism, fairness, and inclusivity, and looks forward to delivering another exciting Championship.”
