Police Confirm Arrest of Whistleblower, PIDOM

The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed that undercover journalist Bristol Tamunobiefiri, also known as PIDOM, has been arrested.
The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the arrest on Saturday.
He stated that PIDOM was detained on charges of “committing serious offences that undermine the integrity of government operations.”
According to him, the Journalist was arrested by the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) on August 5, 2024, in a hotel room in Rivers State.
The allegations against PIDOM include the unlawful possession and leakage of classified documents, along with other cyber-related offences.
ACP Adejobi assured the public that a thorough investigation would be conducted to address these serious charges.
He also emphasised the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to enforcing the law and ensuring national security.
ACP Adejobi confirmed that PIDOM will be arraigned in court next week.
