The Osun State Health Insurance Agency (OSHIA) has organized a one-day training program for Primary Health Care Workers in the state, in a bid to let teach them how to be conscientious in their practices.

Speaking at the training program on Tuesday at Halatria Hotel, in Osogbo, the state capital, OSHIA Executive Secretary, Dr. Rasaq Akindele explained that the agency has already made effort to assess each health centres across the state by checking their records and inspecting their operations.

He, also re-asssured that the state Governor is very much  conscientious about the health of his citizens.

He said, ” This training is to let people know that they have to be conscientious about what they do. Recently, we went around the health centers to look at their records to inspect their operations and we found out that they actually fell below standard.

“We brought them together to interact with them and to retrain them on their expectations to patients or people who come to them especially in terms of record keeping so that one can be able to plan appropriately.

“The Governor is very conscientious about the health of the people. Apart from us renovating, doing interpretation and others, we still have to still go there and monitor them i.e monitor the state facility individually so that we can ensure that people who go there get what they want from these facilities.

Akindele, also added that after the training, he expect the health workers to improve more on their professionalism and their output towards their patients.

“The primary health care workers are the main target. We hope that after this training there will be great output in terms of patient treatment and patient satisfaction.

“They got our message and they also fed us back about the challenges that they are having which we would find a way of solving it”, he stated.

In an interview with our correspondent, Dare Adeoye from Vault Consulting Firm disclosed that the training is majorly for health workers at the local health care centers, in order to build synergy.
