The lingering industrial dispute between the Osun State chapter of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) and the state judiciary management may soon see a ray of hope as the national leadership of the union has expressed readiness to engage in dialogue aimed at resolving the crisis.
The Osun State JUSUN Chairman, Comrade Adedayo Adeniran, disclosed this development in a statement issued on Monday after the union’s monthly congress held in Osogbo.
Adeniran revealed that the National President of the union, Comrade Marwan Adamu, had indicated a willingness to hold discussions with the management of the state judiciary over the issues that led to the ongoing strike.
He recalled that the union had on September 19, 2025, commenced an indefinite strike to press for timely 2024 and 2025 staff promotions, payment of arrears, and improved welfare packages for judiciary workers across the state.
According to him, the national leadership’s conciliatory gesture signals a possible breakthrough in the protracted impasse, which has crippled judicial activities in Osun for over a month.
Adeniran said: “The National President of JUSUN has extended an olive branch, indicating a willingness to engage in dialogue with the judiciary management. He has expressed openness to meeting and discussing the pressing issues affecting our members, provided that the management is genuinely committed to finding a resolution.”
He further noted that the ball was now in the court of the judiciary management, stressing that genuine commitment from the authorities would determine how soon normalcy could return to the state’s courts.
The ongoing strike has grounded judicial operations across Osun State, with courtrooms under lock and key and litigants left stranded as workers demand fulfillment of welfare and promotion entitlements dating back several months.
