MFM Denies Financial Misconduct, Accuses UK Regulator of Bias

The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has rejected claims of financial misappropriation levelled against its United Kingdom branch by the Charity Commission for England and Wales.

The Ministries said the allegations are unfounded and discriminatory.

According to reports, the UK Charity Commission had launched a statutory inquiry into MFM’s UK operations over concerns related to the management of funds and the oversight of several bank accounts reportedly linked to the church’s local branches.

The Commission stated that its investigation revealed inadequate governance practices and lapses in financial control within the organisation, prompting measures aimed at safeguarding the charity’s assets.

However, in a statement issued by the church, MFM maintained that it had not engaged in any form of fraud or financial wrongdoing.

It clarified that the matters identified by the regulator concerned administrative and record-keeping issues rather than the diversion of funds.

The ministry further denied reports that its accounts were frozen, insisting that none of its assets had been restricted. It described the inquiry as flawed and accused the Charity Commission of treating the African-founded church unfairly compared to similar religious organisations in the UK.

“The entire process was marred by prejudice and selective enforcement. We have cooperated fully with the authorities and remain committed to transparency and accountability in all our global operations,” it said.
