The Oyo State Government has formally transferred 90 hectares of land to the Federal Government for the establishment of the Moniya Inland Dry Port in Ibadan, the state capital.
The land handover took place on Friday.
This marks a significant milestone in the state’s efforts to boost trade facilitation and enhance logistics infrastructure within the South-West region.
According to officials, the dry port project is expected to ease congestion at seaports, promote export activities, and stimulate economic growth by providing businesses in Oyo and neighbouring states with easier access to international trade routes.
The Moniya Inland Dry Port would serve as a key commercial hub linking the hinterlands to the nation’s major ports, thereby improving the efficiency of goods movement across Nigeria.
