Craneburg Construction Limited, the firm handling the reconstruction of the Lagos–Abeokuta Expressway, has pledged to complete the project within record time assuring residents that steady progress is being made despite weather challenges.

The assurance came during an inspection tour of ongoing works in Itori, Ewekoro Local Government Area, led by the Ogun State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsanya.

Project Manager, Mr. Pierre Andary, revealed that asphalt laying had commenced on multiple sections of the expressway, with overall completion now surpassing 50 percent.
“We are fully committed to delivering this project on schedule. Despite the rains, work has continued at a consistent pace,” Andary said.

Engr. Akinsanya, who expressed satisfaction with the pace of work, reiterated Governor Dapo Abiodun’s resolve to deliver quality and lasting road infrastructure across the state.

“Before this administration came on board, the road was practically impassable — especially around the Sango-Ota axis. We’ve made tremendous efforts to change that,” he said.

He explained that the concrete pavement design adopted along the Ewekoro axis was aimed at ensuring longevity and reducing future maintenance costs due to the area’s high water table.

The Commissioner also dispelled concerns raised by a viral video showing poor road conditions.

He said the footage is outdated and not reflective of the current project status.

“Work is ongoing and will continue until completion. We appeal for patience and careful driving during the rainy season,” he added.

Other key roads inspected during the tour included the 8.17km Magboro–Makogi Road, Akute–Alagbole Road, 9.2km Oke-Aro–Agbado Road, and Papalanto Road, all spanning multiple local government areas.

Mr. Jason Zhang, Project Manager of CCECC Nigeria Limited, which is handling the Magboro–Makogi Road, confirmed that the project is on track and commended both motorists and the government for their cooperation.
