Osun Government Launches Security Trust Fund to Boost Safety In the State

The Osun State Government has launched the Osun State Security Trust Fund as part of efforts to strengthen security across the state through a collaborative approach involving key stakeholders.
Speaking at a press conference, the Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee described the initiative as a major step towards reinforcing the state’s security framework.
He said the fund, initiated by Governor Ademola Adeleke, is designed to promote safer communities and support sustainable development.
“Today marks a decisive step forward in our collective commitment to the safety, stability, and prosperity of our state,” he said.
He stressed that security remains the backbone of economic growth and social stability, noting that development cannot thrive in an atmosphere of insecurity.
“Security is the foundation upon which all meaningful development is built.
Without it, businesses cannot thrive, communities cannot flourish, and citizens cannot live with confidence,” he stated.
According to him, the Trust Fund goes beyond being a financial arrangement, serving instead as a platform for partnership among government, the private sector, development partners and individuals.
“The Osun State Security Trust Fund is not just a financial mechanism it is a platform for partnership.
I’mIt brings stakeholders together to pool resources and support our security agencies with modern equipment, technology, training, logistics and intelligence gathering,” he added.
He assured that transparency and accountability would guide the operation of the fund, noting that measures have been put in place to ensure proper oversight and responsible management.
“Every contribution will be tracked, and every expenditure will be justified.
The trust of our people is paramount, and we intend to maintain it,” he said.
The committee chairman called on members of the business community to support the initiative, pointing out that a secure environment is essential for investment and economic activities.
“To our business community, your investments depend on a secure environment.
This is an opportunity to contribute directly to the protection of your assets and the stability of the market,” he said.
He also urged residents to play their part by remaining vigilant and cooperating with security agencies.
“Security is everyone’s responsibility.
Beyond financial contributions, citizens vigilance and commitment to peace are invaluable,” he noted.
While commending security agencies for their efforts, he reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting them.
“This initiative is a testament to our confidence in your dedication and service. We will continue to support you as you safeguard our communities,” he said.
He added that the launch marks the beginning of sustained efforts to ensure lasting peace in the state.
“This is not the end but the beginning of a sustained effort.
Together, we can build a safer Osun where families sleep peacefully, entrepreneurs invest boldly, and our youth can aspire without fear,” he said.
He called on all stakeholders to support the initiative, expressing optimism that collective efforts would guarantee long-term peace and progress in Osun State.
