Member representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Bamidele Salam, has distributed 150 motorcycles and 10 campaign buses to party members and coordinators to strengthen grassroots mobilisation ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election in Osun State.
The event attracted party leaders, women groups, youths and supporters from across the federal constituency.
Speaking during the programme, the Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, Kamarudeen Olalere Oyewumi, commended Salam for his commitment to the welfare of party members and the development of the constituency.
Oyewumi described Salam as a leader who believes in carrying everyone along, noting that political office should be used to positively impact the lives of the people.
He said, “Politics is a platform to seek blessings through service to humanity.
A leader who shares opportunities with the people and supports party faithful will continue to enjoy God’s favour and support. Hon. Bamidele Salam has shown commitment to the people, and I pray God continues to strengthen and reward him.”
The senator also urged political office holders to always use their positions for the benefit of the people, rather than pursuing personal interests alone.
In his address, Salam said the vehicles and motorcycles were provided to boost house-to-house campaigns and strengthen mobilisation efforts ahead of the governorship election.
According to him, the distribution was aimed at ensuring effective grassroots engagement across the constituency in support of the re-election bid of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke.
“We made provision for these materials to enhance our house-to-house campaigns for the success of the August 15, 2026 election. By the grace of God, Governor Adeleke will triumph because the people are solidly behind him,” Salam said.
He expressed confidence that the governor would secure another term in office based on what he described as the administration’s achievements across the state.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Accord structure in Ede South Local Government and Chairman of Local Government Party Chairmen across Osun State, Ademola Oyebode, praised Salam for what he called his outstanding performance at the National Assembly.
Oyebode said Salam had distinguished himself through impactful projects and empowerment programmes since assuming office as a member of the House of Representatives.
“It has become a common belief that many first-time lawmakers struggle because they are unfamiliar with the system, but Hon. Bamidele Salam has proven to be different. From his first term, he demonstrated capacity and commitment to service, and his performance has continued to improve,” he said.
He added that the items distributed were not ordinary gifts, but tools meant to strengthen campaign activities and ensure victory for the party in the forthcoming governorship election.
Oyebode further expressed optimism that Governor Adeleke would record a landslide victory at the poll, citing ongoing infrastructural development and transformation across Osun State under the current administration.
