Defections: Osun APC Has Lost Grassroot’s Trust- TICC

The Imole Campaign Council has said that the series of defections going on within the All Progressives Congress in Osun is an indication that APC has lost grassroot’s trust.
TICC also added that the candidate of APC, Bola Oyebamiji is increasingly becoming inconsequential in the governorship race and is now focused on fundraising for political survival
The Council in a statement by its Spokesperson, Pelumi Olajengbesi, maintained that the growing wave of resignations and defections from the Osun APC is a clear indication that confidence in the party has collapsed across the State.
The statement reads in part, “Every day, committed party members, stakeholders, and grassroots supporters continue to walk away from the party because they have lost faith in its leadership, direction, and electoral prospects.
“It is interesting that Osun APC as a party keeps losing its members and grassroots mobilisers on a daily basis and still claim to enjoy the confidence and trust of the people.
“For Osun APC, the reality of electoral defeat is becoming increasingly obvious. The Osun governorship contest is moving beyond Oyebamiji, the candidate of the APC whose campaign seems preoccupied with raising funds and securing his political base, rather than making the case to Osun people that he offers a credible alternative.
“The APC is currently bleeding from within. The implosion seems quick and fatal. As the wave of resignations continues, one fact has become unmistakably clear: the people have made up their minds and are moving on.”
