(Breaking) Atunto Rally: APC, MC Oluomo mobilise for Dotun Babayemi

Lagos and Oyo buses numbering over 150 full with men and women in Ankara today stormed Osogbo for the rally organised by a group coordinated by Prince Dotun Babayemi, a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member.

The group, reportedly hiding under a forum, tagged Atunto, are importing people from neighbouring states in what many observers fear was to disturb the peaceful atmosphere of the state and misled the public on the situation of things in Osun.


The buses with Lagos plates numbers assembled at Ara junction, with men and women waiting for the arrival of their colleagues.

A drive from Iwo to Osogbo also shown similar Lagos buses coming from Ibadan to Iwo then, route Osogbo.

Eye witness accounts reveals that the occupants of the buses were clearly non-residents of Osun even as their buses were marked with Atunto stickers.

At Ara junction which was the assembly point, the occupants of the vehicle said they were going for a rally at Wocdif.

Aside the Lagos branded buses, about 50 buses with Oyo state plate numbers were also spotted.

The Lagos transport maestro, MC Oluomo was reported to have coordinated the mobilisation from his Lagos secretariat on Wednesday.

The transport chief was reported to have also used the Lagos APC platform to mobilize many of the occupants in the buses.

It was gathered that the planned Atunto gathering was the idea of a former Governor of the state as a move to create the impression of a divided PDP in Osun state.

It was also gathered that the former governor met Babayemi and his lieutenants in Abuja where it was agreed to convene the Atunto gathering and released over N70 million for mobilization.

Sources revealed that Musiliu Akinsaya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, came into the picture when Babayemi confided in Oyetola on the difficult task to mobilize for the gathering to get the effect expected.

The source added that Oyetola was said to have personally reached out to MC Oluomo to help with mobilization, which the NURTW obliged.
