The Osun-Osogbo Festival has entered a new phase of its 2026 campaign rollout with the release of an official visual that reframes the global perception of the festival—not as history, but as a living, uninterrupted civilization.

For over 600 years, while empires have risen and disappeared and cultures have faded, Osun-Osogbo has remained continuously practiced—preserved not in archives, but in living tradition.

Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Osun Sacred Grove stands today as one of the last surviving sacred ecosystems where spirituality, culture, and community exist in active continuity.

This latest campaign release marks a deliberate positioning: Osun-Osogbo is not a cultural relic—it is a present, evolving force shaping identity, heritage, and global cultural discourse.

“What we are presenting is not a festival that survived history, but a civilization that never stopped,” said Oyindamola Olukanni, Media Manager to the Osun-Osogbo Festival.

The 2026 edition, themed “Preserving Heritage. Inspiring the Future,” builds on this foundation, emphasizing that tradition is not in opposition to progress—it is its guide. Fronting the campaign is Hon. Dr Laide Bakare, renowned actress, cultural figure, and Senior Special Assistant to the Osun State Governor on Tourism, Culture and Entertainment, who serves as the official Face of the Festival, bringing both contemporary relevance and cultural authority to the narrative.

The festival, scheduled to hold from July 27th to August 7th, 2026, is expected to attract over 500,000 participants, offering a rare large-scale, physical cultural experience in an increasingly digital world. As part of its evolving structure, the festival has introduced sustained monthly campaign rollouts since February, designed to deepen audience engagement and provide strategic visibility for participating brands.

Orijin Bitters has been confirmed as one of the festival’s exclusive partners for the alcohol and beverage category for the 2026 edition, reflecting a growing alignment between heritage-driven platforms and culturally resonant brands.

In the lead-up to the festival, the Osun-Osogbo Global Summit will take place on May 29, 2026, convening His Royal Majesty, government leaders, and international stakeholders to define the strategic direction of the festival and formally announce participating partners.

Under His Royal Majesty, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun Larooye II, the Ataoja of Osogbo Land, Custodian of the Osun-Osogbo Festival continues to stand as one of Africa’s most enduring cultural
institutions—unbroken, authentic, and globally significant.
