• Charges staff on efficient and effective service delivery

Osun State Government has charged the revenue sector on efficient, prompt and effective service delivery, as it unveils new set of motorcycles for revenue dispatch riders in order to facilitate service delivery.
The State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Tax Matters, Barr. Kamoru Ajisafe gave the charge during the commissioning of the new fleet of motorcycles which was held in the Osun Internal Revenue Service premises at Omoluabi Holdings, beside Govt. Secretariat, Abere Osogbo.
While commissioning the motorcycles, Governor Ademola Adeleke explained that procurement of the rides was targeted at bridging the gap between the revenue service and the citizens, and to foster a culture of voluntary tax compliance in order to boost the State revenue base.
In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of Osun Internal Revenue Service, (OIRS), Prince Adesola Adewumi appreciated the State Governor for his love and passion in working towards bettering the lot of the State. While recalling the challenges being faced before acquiring the new motorcycles, the Executive Chairman assured the Governor of the Agency’s improved performance.
Prince Adewumi, who expressed optimism about the positive impact that the motorcycles would have on revenue collection, charged the dispatch riders not to use them for personal gain, but rather, strictly, for revenue generation purposes.
The OIRS boss also advised the riders to double their efforts in their revenue generation endeavor, praying for their safety in the course of their day to day activities.
He therefore charged all Tax Station Managers to monitor daily activities of officers in their domain.
Present at the commissioning were: OIRS Board Secretary, Mrs Abimbola Dunsin; Board Members, Prince Philip Fadehan, Prince Bode Oyebowale; Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Revenue and Taxes, Alhaji Hamzat Solanke ; Director Income Tax, Mrs Idowu Osungbohun; Director of MDAs, Mr. Isola Oladejo as well as the Director Informal Sector, Mrs Mobolaji Fawunmi, among others.
