President Bola Tinubu has sworn in Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the 23rd Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).
She is to act in an acting capacity pending confirmation by the Senate.
She was sworn in Abuja around 11:38 am, becoming the second female Justice to hold the position.
She succeeds Ariwoola, who assumed office on June 27, 2022, and bowed out on Thursday, upon attaining the mandatory retirement age of 70 years.
At 66, Kekere-Ekun is expected to serve until her retirement in 2028.
