Gunmen abduct Oyo PDP chieftain

The Police have confirmed the abduction of a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Benedict Akika.

Akika was reportedly kidnapped by gunmen on Tuesday.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, disclosed this to journalists on Thursday in Ibadan.

Osifeso said Akika was kidnapped on Tuesday evening from his residence in Olorunda Abba, Lagelu LGA of the state.

He added that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The spokesperson assured the public that updates will be provided after investigation.

“Investigation has commenced into the matter. Updates will be provided accordingly,” he said.
