Young Woman Found Dead In Osogbo
Authorities in Osun State are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a young woman identified as Halimat, whose body was discovered near a mosque in the Ogo-Oluwa area of Osogbo on Monday.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Osun State Police Command, Abiodun Ojelabi, stated that officers responded swiftly after receiving a report about a lifeless body found in the vicinity of the mosque.
According to Ojelabi, the deceased was discovered alongside an item resembling a suicide note, and officers at the scene detected the smell of a toxic substance believed to be Sniper, raising suspicions of suicide.
“There were no visible signs of physical assault on the body,” Ojelabi noted. “During our preliminary investigation, a relative of the deceased was located and has provided information that is aiding our ongoing inquiry.”
The Police Command has assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of death and to uncover any underlying circumstances.
