“We’ve Not Ordered Members to Resume Work” — Osun NULGE

0 0

The Osun State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) has distanced itself from a viral publication allegedly instructing its members to return to work.

The Union said the publication is the handiwork of “political mischief-makers bent on destabilising the union.”

In a statement signed by its State Publicity Secretary, Comrade David Olalekan Owoeye, the union said the purported directive did not emanate from the duly elected state executives led by Comrade Dr. Nathaniel Kehinde Ogungbangbe, nor from the National Secretariat headed by Comrade Haruna Aliyu Kankara.

According to the statement, the alleged publication was sponsored by a political party “to cause commotion, disorganise well-informed NULGE members, and destabilise the peace of the state.”

The union urged its members to disregard the directive, stressing that no such instruction had been given.

“The write-up is nothing but the handiwork of killers of destiny. It must be completely jettisoned. Our members are advised to stay away from office until further directives are issued by the real elected state NULGE executives under Comrade Dr. Nathaniel Kehinde Ogungbangbe,” the statement read.

NULGE further assured members that the leadership remained committed to protecting their interests and preventing what it described as “blood harvesters” from taking advantage of the situation.

“It is equally pertinent to note that NULGE has not directed our members to resume work. The executives will continue to defend the interests of our members. Workers united can never be defeated,” the statement concluded.
