Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has called on Nigerian youths to take the lead in modernizing the agricultural sector.
He stated that food security is the foundation for national peace, stability, and prosperity.
The governor made the call at the National Food Security Summit 2.0 and the commissioning of the Eternity Stone Limited Fabrication Facility, held at the Industrial Development Centre, Oke-Ayepe, Osogbo.
Represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Nomadic Affairs, Hon. Adebisi Maruf, Governor Adeleke said his administration is deeply committed to transforming agriculture into a youth-driven, technology-enabled industry capable of creating jobs and ensuring self-sufficiency.
The governor added that his administration has prioritized agricultural development through the distribution of improved seedlings, the strengthening of extension services, and the promotion of cluster farming systems aimed at boosting yields and reducing post-harvest losses.
He further stated that Osun State is working with private investors to deepen mechanized farming and create agricultural value chains that will empower youths and women.
