Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has congratulated the Oluwo of Iwoland, His Imperial Majesty Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, Telu I, as the revered monarch marks the 10th anniversary of his ascension to the ancient throne.
He describes the monarch as a traditional ruler whose reign has inspired renewed commitment to development and nation building.
Governor Adeleke, in a goodwill message on Sunday, celebrated Oba Akanbi’s decade-long stewardship, noting that Iwoland has witnessed remarkable transformation under the monarch’s dynamic leadership.
He praised the Oluwo’s drive for progress, strategic use of relationships, and harnessing of natural and human resources to reposition Iwoland on the national map.
According to the Governor, the significant strides recorded in the last ten years, which included but not limited to the establishment of the first federal institution in Iwoland and the construction of its first-ever dual carriageway, are clear testaments to Oba Akanbi’s visionary rulership.
He described the Oluwo as a leader who rules with compassion, wisdom and purpose, adding that the monarch has successfully rallied the town’s human capital to reverse years of neglect and set Iwoland on a path of sustainable growth.
Adeleke noted that Oba Akanbi’s impactful reign has also contributed to strengthening communal harmony across Osun State, cementing his role as a stabilising force within the traditional institution.
Rejoicing with sons and daughters of Iwoland on the milestone, the Governor expressed deep admiration for the monarch’s “exceptional service” and unwavering dedication to the prosperity of his people.
He offered prayers for Oba Akanbi’s continued good health and long reign, saying his leadership remains vital to the further advancement of Iwoland and the wellbeing of humanity at large.
